Hey, everybody. Hope ya'll are doing well and good. TL;DR: The title, basically. I'm a composer currently doing a little study of electronic music genres with the intention to become a better musician. One of the subgenres that has puzzled me the most is house music. I'm used to energetic music, punk rock/pop punk being my favorite genre, and artists like Dada Life, deadmau5, Deepforces, Atmozfears, being my favorite EDM-related artists. So, coming across this genre that focuses on repetitive grooves to induce a trance-like state, and has, in my opinion, very little variation between sections, I have difficulty understanding it.
